What Makes Up a Door Access Control System

• Reader / credential – how a person proves who they are: card, fingerprint, face, PIN or mobile phone.
• Controller – decides who may open which door and when, and logs every event. Standalone readers have the controller built in; networked systems use a separate 1, 2 or 4-door controller managed from software.
• Lock – magnetic lock, electric strike or electric bolt that physically holds the door.
• Exit device – push button or touchless exit switch on the inside, plus an emergency break-glass release.
• Power supply & backup – 12 V DC supply with battery backup so the system keeps working during power cuts.

Which Type of Access Control Fits Your Building?

Standalone (single door)

A fingerprint or card reader with built-in controller, a maglock and an exit button. Best for a single office door, server room, villa gate or store room. Lowest cost and quickest to install.

Networked / IP-based (multi-door)

Readers on each door wired to IP controllers (ZKTeco C3 / InBio or HID VertX) and managed centrally — add or remove users, set time schedules and pull reports for every door. Best for offices, residential towers, schools and hotels.

Biometric – fingerprint or face

Card / RFID

Long-range UHF (vehicle access)

Windscreen sticker tags read at 1–12 metres so residents and staff drive straight through the gate or parking barrier without stopping. Pairs with our gate barriers.

Fail-Safe or Fail-Secure Locks?

Doors on fire escape routes normally need fail-safe locks (maglocks) that release on power loss or a fire alarm signal, plus an emergency break-glass. How much does an access control system cost in Dubai?

Hardware for a standalone single door (fingerprint or card reader, magnetic lock, exit button and break-glass) typically comes to around AED 1,000–1,300. Biometric or card – which is better?

Biometric removes lost or shared cards and suits staff doors and attendance. Cards are cheaper per user and easier for visitors and contractors. Many sites combine both — card or face at the lobby, fingerprint at server rooms.

Can access control connect to our gate barrier or CCTV?

Yes. The same credential can open doors, turnstiles, gates and parking barriers, and UHF readers let vehicles through barriers without stopping.

Do you offer time attendance systems?

Yes — fingerprint, card and face recognition attendance terminals for offices, warehouses and shift-based sites, with exportable reports for payroll.

Will it work outdoors in Dubai heat?

Yes, we specify IP65/IP66-rated readers and keypads for outdoor gates and semi-outdoor entrances.

What happens during a power cut?

Systems are installed with a battery-backed power supply. Doors on escape routes use fail-safe locks that release safely if power or the fire alarm triggers.
