Understanding Air Curtains

What is an Air Curtain?

An air curtain is a device that creates a barrier of air across an opening. It helps separate two different environments, typically used at entrances to buildings. The air curtain allows for easy passage while reducing the exchange of air, dust, and insects. This means that when a door opens, the air curtain maintains indoor temperature and provides comfort. Because air curtains can save energy, they are a popular choice for businesses aiming to improve climate control.

Benefits of Using Air Curtains

Air curtains offer numerous advantages. First, they enhance energy efficiency by minimizing the loss of conditioned air. This reduction means less energy is spent on heating or cooling, leading to lower utility bills. However, the benefits do not stop there; air curtains also improve comfort for customers and employees. By keeping outdoor elements at bay, they contribute to a more pleasant indoor environment regardless of the weather outside.

Applications of Air Curtains

Air curtains are versatile devices commonly used in various settings. Retail stores, restaurants, and hospitals utilize them to maintain a comfortable atmosphere. Because they help to keep out unwanted pollutants and pests, many businesses find them indispensable in busy locations. Additionally, air curtains can also be integrated into other systems for enhanced performance, making them a valuable investment for many organizations.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an air curtain cost in the UAE?

OLEFINI air curtains start from AED 2,350 for a 1 m unit and go up to about AED 6,960 for a 2 m ceiling-recessed unit. Premium Teddington models cost AED 7,200 to 19,500. Installation is quoted per site.

How do I choose the right air curtain series for my door?

Start with your door height: up to 2.5m suits the OLEFINI Commercial series, up to 3m suits X-Series or Plastic/ECO, up to 4m suits W-Series or Recessed, and up to 6m needs the Industrial series. Within a series, pick the width closest to your door width.

What's the difference between OLEFINI and Teddington?

OLEFINI (Greece) covers the full range of standard to heavy-duty commercial needs at competitive pricing. Teddington (Germany) is a premium, heavier-duty tier for specification-led projects where a specific German brand is required.

What's the difference between the Recessed series and the others?

Recessed units are ceiling-concealed — installed within the ceiling structure so only the air outlet is visible — for a cleaner look in finished commercial spaces. The other series are surface-mounted above the door.

Does an air curtain replace air conditioning?

No — an air curtain works alongside your existing AC or heating system. It reduces the amount of conditioned air lost through an open door, which lowers the load on your AC rather than replacing it.

Can I get a heated air curtain?

Yes — heated variants (electrically heated) are available within the OLEFINI range for entrances that need active temperature control, not just an air barrier. Ask our team for the heated option in your required series and size.

Do you install air curtains, or just supply them?

Both. Our own technical team provides professional installation and after-sales support across Dubai and the UAE, in addition to supply.

What's the lead time and delivery area?

Stocked models typically ship within 1-2 business days in the UAE. Contact us to confirm lead time for your specific model and quantity.

Can an air curtain be fitted above a 6-meter door?

Our stocked range covers up to 6 meters (OLEFINI Industrial series). For openings taller than 6 meters, contact our team to discuss a custom specification.
