Case Study: SIRA-Approved CCTV for Dubai Villa Communities

Merac Dubai project profile — Villa Lantana 1 & 2 (Dubai Science Park) and Season Community (Summer 1 & 2, Autumn 1 & 2)

The Challenge

Gated villa communities need CCTV that covers entrances, internal roads, common areas and the perimeter, and that meets SIRA requirements. Unlike a single tower, a community spreads cameras over a large area, so cabling routes, recorder locations and the monitoring point have to be planned before work starts, while residents continue to live on site.

The Solution

Merac carried out large community CCTV and SIRA work at Villa Lantana 1 and Villa Lantana 2 in Dubai Science Park, and SIRA work across the Season Community clusters: Summer 1, Summer 2, Autumn 1 and Autumn 2. Each project followed the same process:

  1. Site survey and camera layout planned for entrances, roads, common areas and perimeter
  2. SIRA-approved drawings
  3. Supply and installation of cameras, recorders and cabling
  4. Commissioning, testing of recording and retention, and handover

Why It Mattered

  • SIRA-compliant CCTV across each community, installed to approved drawings
  • One team and one standard across several clusters
  • AMC support available after handover, with a written service report after every visit
